A small life update

Martina & Lukáš

Hello everyone! We haven’t had a new article for some time, we know. Time flies unbelievably and this year has been quite hectic (honestly, it still is but we aren’t bored at least). News number one is for sure the fact that we got married. We have the same surname for almost two months now and we still love each other. I would say that nothing really changed and if only for better 🙂

The wedding was really pretty and it was over really fast. We managed everything calmly, however, we still needed some time to calm our minds and relax.

To be honest, both of our vacations this year have been quite demanding (physically). First, we visited Slovak Paradise (mountains in the Eastern part of the country), which is beautiful but the tourist trails are quite demanding.  We have been basically out in the wild so we were happy to be able to find at least one place with good food. And I don’t think that we are too snobby or spoiled by life in a bigger city like Prague. Shortly, we like good food and quality ingredients, but you know that 🙂 However, we have found great homemade halušky (potato dumplings) with sheep cheese almost everywhere.

The next point of our Summer was the trip to North Italy. We took our car and went on a road trip with stops in many different places.

Prague – Innsbruck – Limone Sul Garda – Sirmione – Modena – Bologna – Florence – Viareggio – Munich – Prague

There was a lot of things to see and bear in mind, it was very hot and we were sweating a lot. We have been stressed about the roads and sometimes about Italians and their roundabouts (which are crazy, there is too many of them and they might have three lanes). We’ve seen hundreds of Parmigiano cheese together, we were enjoying real gelatto and we were thankful for the rain which came during our road to Florence…

We have survived and enjoyed a lot, we tasted great food and got new inspiration. So we are looking forward to Fall because the long rainy evenings are the best for article writing 🙂 You have something to be excited about and look forward to!

I have always been a highly curious person, who wants to understand everything. Probably that’s why I decided to study biology at the level of cells and molecules. The world around us is amazing and I try to comprehend and enjoy it to the fullest. I have to admit that my passion for food has always been there too, but I have never cooked myself so much. Not until I realized how relaxing it actually is for me to run around the kitchen and that home-cooked meals are also good for our health. I’m soothed by my mother’s traditional dishes on the other side I’m fascinated by all the colors, smells and tastes of exotic food and I love international cuisine. Another reason for my next passion, namely travelling, which enables me to try new dishes and to get inspiration. I hope you will enjoy our recipes!
